What Ring
Would She Love?

Six questions about her style, her taste, and what matters to her. A personalised ring profile and jeweller shortlist at the end.

The style finder

Getting the style right matters as much as getting the stone right.

Most buyers know roughly what budget they are working with. Fewer know exactly what their partner's taste calls for, and that is the question that actually determines whether she loves the ring. This quiz is built around that question. Six choices, no right or wrong answers, and a personalised result at the end.

Question 1 of 6

Think about how she gets dressed in the morning.

Not the occasion, just the day-to-day.

A

Effortless and consistent

She pulls it together without much deliberation. Her style is formed and it does not really change. She knows exactly what works.

B

Considered and specific

She thinks about what she wears. Each thing is chosen for a reason. Unexpected at times, but always deliberate.

Question 2 of 6

Her jewellery box, if you have seen it.

What is mostly in there?

A

Things she has worn for years

Mostly gold or silver chains, small earrings, pieces that go with everything. She reaches for the same things most days.

B

Things with character

A mix of pieces, each with a story or a reason. Some unusual. Something from a market, something inherited, something nobody else would have chosen.

Question 3 of 6

A ring on someone else's hand makes her stop and look.

Which is more likely?

A

A perfectly cut round diamond

Clean, brilliant, obviously right. The kind of ring that does not need an explanation. It just is.

B

Something she cannot immediately place

She would need a closer look. Unusual stone shape, interesting setting, something she has not quite seen before.

Question 4 of 6

The band itself: how much does it matter to her?

Separate from the stone.

A

The stone does the talking

A clean, simple band. Four claws, fine profile, nothing that competes with the diamond. The setting is a vehicle, not a statement.

B

She would notice every detail

The width, the finish, the small things. A little milgrain around the edge, an interesting claw style, a texture on the inside of the band. She would look closely.

Question 5 of 6

Metal tone.

Think about what she already wears most.

A

White gold or platinum

Cool, clean, precise. The default for most fine diamond rings. She probably wears silver-tone jewellery more than gold.

B

Yellow or rose gold

Warmer, more characterful. She probably wears yellow gold pieces, or her skin tone makes warm metal look better on her than cool.

Question 6 of 6

Ten years from now, what matters most about the ring?

Honest answer only.

A

Still exactly right

Nothing to improve, nothing to change. It has not dated. People still say it is beautiful. It looks as correct on her hand as it did the day she put it on.

B

Still feels made for her

When she looks at it she is reminded of who she is, not just that she is engaged. It has her personality in it. You could not have given it to anyone else.
