About

A Workshop You Tour Before Anything Is Designed

Simon Wright has made jewellery in London for over two decades, working from a second-floor workshop at 6 St John’s Place in Clerkenwell, the historic jewellery district a few streets from Hatton Garden. He is trained in both traditional making and 3D CAD, and an appointment starts with a tour of the workshop: you see the 3D printers, the bench and the tools before any design conversation begins.

Google shows 255 reviews. We analysed 250: 249 are five star and one sits at one star, across more than ten years. He replies to 83 per cent of reviews, among the highest rates we have counted.

The stone range runs wider than most bespoke studios: diamonds alongside sapphires, emeralds, rubies, aquamarines and fancy coloured diamonds, with stones viewed and sourced before your appointment. The Perfect Proposal package is a different way round the surprise problem: propose with a presented loose stone, then design the ring together afterwards.

One maker, two decades, a workshop tour before the design conversation, and 249 of 250 analysed reviews at five star.

What reviewers say
250Reviews analysed
249Five star

The bespoke and design process dominates, described by 41 reviewers. Seventeen say the partner loves the ring, thirteen mention patience with questions, eleven depth of knowledge and nine that the ring came out better than expected.

One review sits below four stars in more than a decade, and he replies to 83 per cent of reviews, so the record reads as a conversation rather than a scoreboard. Thirteen reviews arrived in the past twelve months, a steady rather than fast-moving pace that fits a one-maker workshop.

For scale: that record sits in the top 19 per cent of the 311 for review volume, and the top 25 per cent for the share of reviews at four stars or better. In plain terms, you should be in safe hands here.

My fiancée and I were extremely pleased with the engagement ring and overall service we recently got from Simon Wright Jewellery. I initially found Simon’s workshop after having visited several other jewellers in London , a couple of well-known high street jewellers plus various shops on Hatton Garden.”

My fiancé and I came to Simon and his lovely team to design our engagement and wedding rings, and we are absolutely thrilled with the work they have done. Simon is a true artisan; he took our ideas, and brought them to life. Nothing was a problem for him, be it having stones cut to a different shape, or adding special engraving to the bands.”

Who this suits

The Right Buyer for Simon Wright Jewellery

This suits a buyer who wants one person responsible from design to finished ring, and who would rather see the bench their ring will be made on than a sales floor. It is a strong choice for coloured stones, where the sourcing range goes well beyond the standard sapphire.

The Perfect Proposal route suits anyone nervous about choosing a ring alone: propose with the stone, then design the setting together. Less suited to a buyer who wants to walk out with a ready-made ring the same day; this is a made-to-order workshop.
